How to Plan a Vision Board Party
Let's plan a vision board party!
It is said that “Vision Boards provide you with physical pictures that you can focus on to help you make your goals a reality! If this is true, I am all for it!” Simply writing down your goals or thinking about them in your head will not allow you to think outside of your limitations. Creating a vision board helps you think beyond what you believe is possible for you right now.
So let the goal making begin.
1. First, Pick a Theme.
The theme I choose was “Goal Digger” because who doesn’t want to do that? A theme is not mandatory but I enjoying incorporating themed elements throughout the party. The colors were black, white, silver and gold. The food and drinks were a blend of healthy eats and indulgences. We had really cutesy small plate food items. I tasked my husband with being the caterer for the night and he did a great job!
2.Find a cute invitation
After you set the location, date and time you are ready to make a fun invitation. I know my friends very well so I added ‘Eat, Drink…’ in a large font. That will be sure to make the invitation more enticing! I created my invitation with Canva simply because I’m an overachiever and I like creating fun stuff (shrugs). Punchbowl and Paperless Post has some really cool templates ready to go!
3. Next, create your menu!
We decided to go with staple party foods with a twist. Our personal Chef really outdid himself (HAHA). Mini Crab Balls, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Chicken Satay, Pepper Steak Cubes, Hawaiian Sliders, Salad and Strawberries with Whipped Cream for a healthy twist on dessert. P.S. the recipes came straight out of Crissy Teigen's "Cravings" recipe book (freaking AMAZING!). Oh, and let’s not forget the Signature Cocktail! Pomegranate Cosmos for everyone!
4. Purchase Supplies.
Don’t forget to purchase the supplies. I opted to purchase the supplies and have the guest bring magazines to share. I headed to the Dollar store and loaded up! Vision Board Party supplies are simple, all you need is a poster board, glue, scissors and a variety of magazines. I also printed free Inspirational Quotes found here.
5. Purchase gifts for SWAG bags (optional).
Remember, I mentioned above that I am extra, right? Call me crazy (which I am at times) but I love themed gift bags. You don’t have to go too crazy with this, but you can get some really cute items at the Dollar Store or at the Target Dollar spot to help your dear friends stay on track. My cute little gift bags included a Pocket Calendar and Themed Pen both purchased from Oriental Trading! See… simple but cute!
6. IT's Party Time! Set your table!!
As if I really needed an excuse to change my tablescape! I decided to go with a simple design using only candles, no floral arrangements this time! I used my stunning black sequin runner, fancy sequin place mats and of course my bling gold chargers! I added paper appetizer plates on top of the chargers to help tie in the theme colors.
7. Create vision boards!
Let’s eat, drink and make a masterpiece!! This was so much fun. We talked, laughed and just let go! Being a Goal Digger is so much fun!
8. Share your vision!
That is the reason for the party, right? – Towards the end of the party, have everyone share their Vision Board. No pressure but at this point in the party we were all feeling “young, wild and free”! My mother always told me to speak it into existence! We provided support and encouragement for every vision, and that’s why we are the best Goal Diggers! Boss Girls Unite!!!
I will hang my vision board in my office as a constant reminder of my goals for 2018!
